That can't be good...

Someone just tipped me off that my book is for sale in Switzerland for 20.9 Swiss Francs.

The bad part? Check out the description, noting that "Title must be worried." Hmmmm... what do you think that means?

[Up to this point, I have pretty much just been worried about that guy behind me with the hoe]

Comments:
It's not that it may be worried; it MUST be. I thoroughly enjoy the name/title/whatever of the seller: versandkostenfrei! If I could pronouce it i'd yell it randomly in crowds.

Seems to me like a mistranslation of "Publication/delivery might be delayed."

For some grade AA mis-translations, check out David Sedaris' new book, When You are Engulfed in Flames.

I thought this was hilarious. Thanks for adding this to my day, Osler.

Interestingly, a used copy is for sale at the Starr Book Shop in Cambridge already. Interesting, since it hasn't been released yet!

Jessica, it is actually very easy to pronounce. Hmmm maybe that is just because I speak German.

On a different note, I'm not saying that someone is justified in hitting another with a hoe in response to being yelled at for snacking, I'm just saying that I understand. I may not take the same actions but I can understand why one would. Snacks are delicious and you infringed on the person's right to the pursuit of happiness.

The question is... who is holding the garden implement?

Tha is one 'preppy' tie. Perhaps that is the problem?

This is why i left Switzerland: the language just has TOO many hard words to remember, and the construction is just too weird for me . . .

I still have a German dictionary, though, Jessica, and apparently your word means "free shipping." Crazy . . .

And those Swiss . . . books were just so damn expensive there, too . . . I think the dollar is pretty even with the CHF, so that would be about $20.

Perhaps it is not a hoe. Perhaps it is a comb.
Bob

Sorry, Prof, but I've got to call a spade a spade, and that's a spade.

Also, Jessica, es ist geprÃĪgt "VER-zan-KOST-un-fry."

Es bedeutet "free shipping."
