Festive Holiday Shoe-Throwing
Oh, brother. What a crazy place Iraq seems to be.
If nothing else, President Bush seems to be pretty good at ducking. That was a well-aimed shoe!

So, he was off doing this instead of working on economic issues. Great. I'm not sure he deserves a "victory lap."
I've now read one U.S. newspaper Columnist defending this "journalist" and heard newscasters on the radio laughing about his actions.
Wonder what these people would be saying if some pissed off reporter threw shoes at Obama?
And I wonder what would have happened to this guy if he had thrown shoes at Saddam Hussein.
Bush and Co. bungled badly in Iraq, but too many people seem to lose a sense of proportion when they start to talk about Bush.
I'll be glad to see him gone from the White House, but I will be even happier to have his Haters go away too.

Aw, am I the only one who has developed a soft spot for Shrub over the years? he is quick and feisty, you have to give it to him!
There would be shock and horror if the shoes had been thrown at Obama. But then, Obama didn't drag the U.S. into an illegal war, bolstered by lies and willfully misleading the American public.

In other news, the Texas Rangers, in desperate need of pitching, signed the reporter to a three-year deal, worth $22 million, with a club option for a fourth year.

I thought it was pretty crazy but I really did admire his response. Didn't he say something like "Hey, I am not a size ten!!"
It is maybe the second thing in eight years I have admired about him.

Yes, the guy's not much of a journalist, to say the least. But I suppose Bush was lucky it was only shoes.
Throw your shoes, partner. Throw away. That's your right - expressive conduct. Dissent. Voicing your disapproval of government.
But remember: the guy you are throwing shoes at was instrumental in you being able to exercise those rights.

Why am I not surprised that Bush ducked so instinctively and so well? You'd think the man had gotten some practice over the past 8 years.
He DID DUCK WELL!!! It was like watching the mean clown in one of those ducking booths Ok not like that but something like that.. you know? Like one of those big inflatable clowns that keep getting back up?
