This is what you get from extensive research...
Baylor is lucky to have many great professors, and one of the best is Brian Serr. I'm lucky to teach the students in advanced-level classes after he has had them for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, and I find that they are very well-prepared.
I count Brian as a good friend as well as a valued colleague, and we go skiing every year out in Utah. I've gotten to know some of his secret super-powers, and will reveal one of them here: Prof. Serr is able to come up with a top-five list for almost anything. I first discovered this when I asked about his favorite fast-food joints, and he immediately gave me his top-five, which (best as I can remember) went like this--
1) Arby's
2) Burger King
3) Wendy's
4) Chik Fil-A
5) KFC
For the record, I think this list would hold only if Starbuck's is not considered a fast-food joint.
And he is TOTALLY CORRECT about Arby's...

Now reduced to but a small regional chain with locations in northern Virginia, western Maryland and south Central Pennsylvania, Roy Rogers still blows Arby's away by a long shot.
Hardees IS the worst and yes indeed, it did buy up most of the Roy Rogers chain... but not all! A few stores in western Maryland had weird contracts with Marriott and somehow survived... and now the chain is expanding. The website at www.royrogersrestaurants.com lists locations in West Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey and even Connecticut!
Sadly, they no longer sell "holsters" of fries. That was just too confusing for the masses.

I went to a Roy Rogers last weekend when my buddy got married in Westminster, Maryland. I joked it must be the last Roy Rogers on the planet. Roast beef AND fried chicken? Be still my beating heart. No, really. The cholesterol just clogged it up.
Top five lists... are we sure he's not Rob Gordon from High Fidelity?

Poseur--
You and I are the only ones who know what you are talking about when you mention Rob Gordon...

Prof. Osler,
Come on now... High Fidelity isn't that obscure. The book was, of course, far superior to the movie even with John Cusack and Jack Black involved.

Prof. Trail, when he wasn't busy abusing us for being 1Qs still wet behind the ears, used to go on rants about Arby's, and how it amazed him that the stores stayed open although "no one ever eats there. Anyone stupid enough to try dies several days later."
WRONG!!! I know who ROB GORDON IS!!!!! I have read a few of those books by that Nick guy.... cannot remember his last name, and I saw the movie. Nick Hornby. I also loved "About a Boy."
Hmmm favorite fast food? In Order?
1. Wendy's
Best kids meals, best nuggets and salads and they have CHILI!!! I LOVE their Chili. I think it is the best fast food item you can get at any place. And Spencer LOVES those Mandarin Oranges.
2. Burgerville a chain in the Pacific Northwest. They use lots of local ingredients and are really Eco conscious. And they have great strawberry lemonade, and cool things like sweet potato fries. And the prizes int eh kids meals are great like little vegetable seed packs with flower pots, or for a while they gave out plastic kid dishes... a different piece each week. Spencer still has his. They do not give out just CRAP, AND no stupid movie tie ins.
3. Jack in the box has a huge variety and they have some great items like the Chicken Fajita Pita and broiled chicken strips with teriyaki sauce. They have good salads. But there are hardly any in Oregon.
4. I like McDonalds for breakfast, AND I like that for the kids meals you don't HAVE to get fries... you can get apples and better things. I like their iced coffee, and their fruit and yogurt parfait, and their Sausage McMuffin with egg.
5. I like Arby's but only for a few things there... those jalapeno things, and they have great salads and market sandwiches like the chicken salad one. BUT all of their food is like DEATH IN A BAG. Seriously. One of those "fresh Market Salads has like 86 g of fat or soemthing. its BAAAAAD. I mean you CANNOT eat there more than like once every two months or you will end up in a hospital.

It's true. I am now in the hospital, because I ate at Arby's twice in ten days. I may be dead by the time you read this.
OMG.
1. Dick's: if for no other reason than the bad pun.
Obviously this man has never had sweet, sweet cheap Seattle Dick's in his mouth.
--actually doesn't care for Arby's...at all
