Okay, fine, just tell me what you think about "Project Runway"...
In the previous post, I tried my best to make a serious comment about the minimal role criminal law issues play in our national political culture. As if to prove my point, every single comment following that post was about Project Runway rather than anything remotely connected to the post. I kinda love that.
Anyways, I only saw the last half of Project Runway, because I went to the ugly and disheartening Baylor-A & M game. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I was a little scared of the Baylor crowd once things got bad. It almost seemed like there were a lot of drunk people there, though I'm not sure why drunk people would go to a basketball game.
And, let's face it, drunk people would be better off watching Project Runway at home. I was tempted to throw some Dr. Pepper bottles at the screen myself once it was announced that Christian won. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but his clothes look like they are made for Victorian fops in a stage show.
Right? Right?

Christian was the best, but then he started crying! I thought he was going to collapse or something.
My sober self left the game hoping that karma would prevail, and that Sloan would get into a car accident on his way home this evening.
Between the Sloan dunk and the reaction to Tweety being leveled, the Aggies better hope they don't face Baylor in the Big 12 tourney.
I don't care who is doing it, throwing stuff on the playing floor is just stupid. What I don't understand is why the people sitting near a jerk who does that lets them get away with it.
It will be hard to win at Tech.

From your photo, i think i must have been sitting right next to you. but i didn't get to stay for the second half. stupid larc3 brief. i guess that was for the best. stress plus gloating aggies might have gotten the best of my gentile nature.
Its better Christian won because the other two aren't really unknowns starting out. Rami has is own store and already is doing pretty well for himself, and Jillian works for Ralph Lauren doing design stuff.
So Christian was not only the best one, but the real unknown starting out designer.

I was at the game, too. And when the A&M player threw down the showboating dunk with 2 seconds on the clock with no one guarding him, I personally wanted to walk down to the court and punch him in the face. It was a move just to show up the other team, in an environment that was already out of hand. It was baiting the crowd.
And I was sober. And you really should never throw anyhting on the court. Ever.

Ok... so the Sloan dunk was pretty unnecessary. However, both teams (and fans) acted poorly through out the game. Trust me, it doesn't make sense to think that the Aggies came to town, were winning the game, and decided to start a riot amongst themselves.
On a more important note, I thought all the collections on Project Runway were good this time. I liked Christian though because he makes me laugh... don't know how that relates to clothes...

Are you guys seriously complaining about a dunk at the end of an important game by a college kid who wanted to show off?
From what I heard and saw on TV, everyone there was acting pretty stupid, so I can't blame the kid.
If crowd was as mean with its taunting as it looked, they deserved to have that dunk shoved down their throats.
I say play until the buzzer sounds, and if that means padding your stats, or making a statement dunk, then by all means go ahead because you deserve it for being the winner! Why can't the kid enjoy sticking it to the fans with a dunk?
I'm positive it will be a fun memory for him 10 years down the road whereas you won't even remember it.
besides, both teams can still make it to the tourney if they win out.

dallas da,
when you win a case, do you pump your fist and yell at the defendant that he's going to jail?
I mean, the defense attorney was acting like a jerk and you won, so he probably deserved it to have it shove down his throat.
granted, dramatically different contexts and not a good comparison on my behalf, but the simple principle remains the same. the game was for all purposes over, so win with class.

Jeffy,
To expound on your example: I have often thrown something a defense attorney shouldn't have said during trial right back at him during closing.
For all purposes the trial is over because the evidence I presented was insurmountable, but are you saying I can't throw an improper comment or a defendant's lie on the stand right down their throats?
If the idea is I shouldn't enjoy my success because that success comes at the expense of others, then I would never get to enjoy any success.
Besides, the point I was making was that this was a basketball game played by college students with a hostile crowd, yet there are people on this website wishing the boy gets in a wreck all because he pissed the crowd off.
All are welcome to come sit in the stands and jeer me during my next trial, I'll be the one high-fiving my partner after our win...might even do a little dance.

Wow...I just realized how little I care about basketball.
If Christian's clothes were foppish, then fop is the new black.
People, really, basketball...

You know what was weird is that Christian started crying BEFORE he won... he cried AFTER Jillian got booted... so HOW did he know he was gonna win???
I though Christian's clothes were the most FASHION FORWARD, that Rami had the most elegant ones and Jillian's were weird but she is a nice person so I did not know who to vote for.
I wanted Rami to win. Bald is the new Black.

In Detroit, Red Wing Hockey fans throw Octopuses (Octopii?) on the ice during I think playoff games SOmething about the original league of 8 teams.
I would NEVER do a thing like this.... because I went to the aquarium recently and I saw an octopus up close and they are disgusting and I would never even TOUCH one.
