My birthday present is here!



My parents are visiting from Michigan. Last month, for my birthday I had asked for a painting from my dad, and today it arrived. That's it, being finished up in the back yard. It's a guy sitting by the river in Detroit.

I like it a lot.

Suspenders, blue view,
Brilliant flowers put man at

It is a great painting!

Am I thinking to hard about this, or is it meant to be:

The natural background and dress of the apparently older gentleman is offset by the fact he has a cartilidge piercing in his left ear, perhaps noting a life of excitement now in its twilight, resting beside a peacefull river?

This is Monet stuff! So, tell us more...has your Dad always painted; does he sell any; would he commission; I want one; I want one; I want one. I paint and have for many years, but his style is awesome. I, too, am jealous.
