Isiah and Aretha



I didn't know that Isiah Thomas and Aretha Franklin were friends, but of course they were. The two services yesterday-- for Ms. Franklin and for John McCain--have been like reading an obituary where you realize how little you knew about a public person....

I was surprised to learn how close Larry Fitzgerald was to John McCain. Sen. McCain inspired Fitzgerald -- an inveterate traveler -- to visit not just Viet Nam, but to go to the infamous "Hanoi Hilton" to see where the senator was imprisoned for 5+ years.
