Haiku Friday: Divas

Barbra Streisand!

Today I'm getting to do something I've always wanted to do. No, it's not being a diva, but I can relate.

Let's haiku about the divas, then, real and imagined. Here is mine:

My dad saw her often
Singing by a piano
Old School: Caucus Club.

Now it is your turn. The winner gets... well, you know.

  1. I saw great Elvis,
Sweating, scarves, a white jump suit,
    King of Rock'n roll.

  2. She needs a lot,Man.
    Gardenias behind her ear,
    Lipstick bloom on blues.

    Fill my veins up and
Make it quick.Press my dress then
    Press me to your chest.

    She's spine-singin now.
The sax mates with her notes
    And their child...Sorrow.

    Never be much cash.
She breaks a nail and curses good.
    Sucks joint like sugar.

    No one sounds like her.
    So show respect,Mister Man.
    Let rubies stain my silk.

    Divas oft burn bright,
The legend lives on for this
    Candle in the wind.

  8. Diva; not Eva
    Oh "What a Wonderful World"
    She left us too soon

    She spun "Fields of Gold"
    A hypnotic rendition
    A voice like honey
