You ever been there on the 4th of July for the big parade? Trust me, its a city. The most awesomely bizarre city ever.
So many problems with that list, Tyd...
-- Canby is not a city. It's a suburb.
-- Portland is not a city. It's more like America's Stash Box.
-- Chicago SO doesn't go with the other two...

San Francisco should definitely make the list over Los Angeles (unless "doing stuff" focuses on ingesting smog). However, as a Northern Californian, I admit I could be slightly biased.
The thing for the list was "What is a good place to do stuff?" Those are all good places to DO stuff!!
Canby Oregon which Is a city of 15,000 people, thank you very much has corn cannons, two parades a year and at least one rodeo. Last year we got a Panda Express. WITH a DRIVE THRU. Hello?? Not a city???
THere are also tons of things to do in both Portland AND Chicago. Portland has a cool Waterfront Blues Festival and tons of great restaurants. Chicago is awesome and also Oprah lives there. Hello?

There's plenty of stuff to do here in DC.
San Francisco for sure belongs on the list.
L.A.-- NFW
NYC, yes. But not 25 years ago.
Boston
Baltimore has a lot going on for a smaller city.
Austin should be on this list, seems to me.
I liked Denver too.

I would like to point out tha Grosse Pointe Shores is now a 'city' and it is a good place for relaxing in the summer and hibernating during the winter.
Now Raleigh/Durham is missing from the list and the people in this region look at you funny if you are not busy 'doing stuff'. We receive a lot of funny looks as the concept of staying home and relaxing is not high on the list. However, randomly shooting your rifle is considered an activity of the highest sort.
