Haiku Friday: Vacation

I love vacation season, and it is here.

Some people love the mountains, some the ocean, some a northern lake, or a resort, or just hanging around at home. It's that time of year, and let's celebrate it in haiku. After all, before the long the French may be in charge of everything again.

Here is mine:

Summer comes in gently
Strokes my hair and cheek and neck;
The sound of water.

Now it is your turn. You can write about the vacation you will take, or once took, or want to take someday... just use 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third.

Comments:
Vacating Waco
Driving west straight through, giddy
Law school in rear view.

Home for R&R!
Dad and sons will play non-stop,
Then, back to Iraq

By the shore now, and
Each wave is a new moment
Each sunbeam a wish.

School's out in 7 days.
Three months of non-diluted
Spencer. Give me strength.

Spencer doing The
Penguins (swim team)& Spanish Camp.
I get to drive him.

My Vacation starts
at the END of Summer, when
Spanish First Grade starts.

Beaches are empty,
The waves are strangely tinted.
Don't swim in the gulf!

Regards,

Tony Hayward

Gold is summer's hue-
Sand and sun and golden hair
... At least in Texas.
