Baylor Blogger Update!

First of all, kudos to Swanburg on his excellent coverage of Baylor events of late. I heartily commend his site to those people willing to look beyond the reportings of Perez Hilton for their "news."
Second, I ran into The Poseur as he was hobbing out of the law school on crutches this evening. Getting closer, I noticed that his left leg was nothing more than a bloody stump, severed just below the knee. I asked how it happened, and he explained that after several surgeries, his leg had simply fallen off earlier in the day while playing softball. Apparently, another student picked it up in the field and the doctors tried to sew it back on, but it did not "take." I don't know what kind of discount hospital he had gone to, but they did not even seem to have properly cleaned up the resulting stump, which the poor boy had simply covered with a dirty tube sock and some exhibit stickers. Horrified, but still admiring his bravery, I gave my condolences. He would would have none of my sympathy, and just smiled proudly while announcing "But I did make it to second for a double!"
Somewhere in there is a commentary about the over-importance of sports in America, but I'm too sad to make it. Yet another young life cut down for this false god we call "softball"... what needs to happen to stop the carnage?

I'm deeply offended by your highly inaccurate post.
Like I would ever go to a doctor. Graham sawed that thing off after a few shots of Jager (for him, not me... he's rather squeamish).

Oh my. That must be where Jenny McCarthy (the Beagle, not the sort of famous chick) got that bloody stump she was chewing on. I am terribly sorry, but would you like your shoe back? She kind of dragged your leg around a bit, it's a little mangled, you can have it back, too if you really want it. I'm very sorry, and a little embarassed. Your shoe looks wearable though....
I'm pretty sure he's not going to need the shoe. As I understand it, he is going to get one of those prosthetic guns mounted on the stump, like in the upcoming film "Grindhouse." Which, in a way, might make him even better at sports.
OK, I succumbed to curiosity and found that Alexis of Bachelor fame is an IP lawyer.
Beautiful AND Smart in career choices!

I appreciate what I'm assuming is our mascot; a squirrel preferring the Diesel over PBR.
Yea . . . that sounds about right.

--That's OLD STYLE, once the most popular beer in Chicago, not PBR.
Prof. Osler, are your students beer-illiterate? This is a sad commentary on Baylor Law, I must say.

IPLG--
It is only Swanburg who knows so little about beer. I think he grew up in a very sheltered environment, where he was shielded from such things...

Ah, that's right. Swanburg's from California. Probably knows his wine coolers quite well, however.
(do they even make wine coolers anymore? --chicks sure dug those in the 80's)
Maybe his Mom can straighten him out on this one.

Well, now at least he could go on "Dancing with the Stars" I wonder who his Celebrity partner will be??
My guess is Kathie Lee Gifford.

Iplaw.. How smart is it to go on The Bachelor?? I mean its like a TV Car Accident. You do not want to watch it, yet you cannot take your eyes off of it.
BUt maybe she can do it and get famous and then be on Court TV It worked for Nancy Grace. HEY!!!! that's who his partner could be!!!!

I LOVED WINE COOLERS!!!! IN college I drank them all of the time. Of course there is not much else to do in WIsconsin. Especially if you hate beer, which I do. Beer sucks. But Bartyles and James? Gotta love those guys.... I was in deed a chick that loved them in the 80s.
